Sumati learned in school that before climate change intensified, people used to stand on train platforms without cooling suits, and without feeling like their skin might blister. Now extended exposure means heat stroke, dehydration, and even death.
School uniforms are made of temperature-regulating fabric, and struggle to compensate anyway.
The ones worn by evacuees and street kids are third-hand and half-working, repaired with whatever conducts. You can hear a crowd of them before you see it.
