Privacy Policy

This site sets no cookies at all — not for advertising, not for analytics, not for anything. That is why there is no consent banner asking you to accept them. What follows is the complete list of everything that does happen.

If you write to us

The Memory Wall, the Reader Fiction form and the updates list ask for a name and an email address. These are used only to reply to you and, with your submission, to publish what you sent under the name you gave. They are not sold, rented or shared, and there is no advertising on this site to share them with.

You can ask at any time to see what was kept, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to be taken off the updates list — including work already published, which comes down on request. Write to info@storywell.in, which is also the address for any complaint about how your information has been handled.

What is stored in your browser

If you switch between dark and light reading modes, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage under phw-theme. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your site data removes it.

Visit counting

Pages record that they were viewed. This is first-party: the record goes to a database run by the author, not to any analytics company. It stores the page path, the site that referred you (the domain only, never the full address), whether the screen is phone-sized, and the time. It does not store your IP address, and it sets no cookie and no identifier — nothing is written to your device and nothing links one visit to another.

Clicks on the "Buy the book" links are counted the same way, so the author can tell whether the site is doing its job. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded at all.

What third parties see

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub receives your IP address and browser user-agent as part of serving the page, and may retain those in server logs. See GitHub's privacy statement.

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google also receives your IP address when a page loads. No cookie is set by this request. If you would rather not make it, a content blocker will prevent it and the site falls back to your system fonts.

There are no other third-party requests. No embedded video, no social widgets, no pixels.

If you contact us or submit to the Memory Wall

If you email us, or send artwork or testimony through the Memory Wall, we keep your message and the name you gave so we can reply and, if you have agreed to it, display your contribution with attribution. We do not sell or share it, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

You can ask us to remove your contribution or your details at any time by writing to info@storywell.in.

Children

The novel is written for readers of around twelve and up. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the Memory Wall asks for no more than a name and an email address.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. The full history of every version is public in the site's repository.
